There’s just something about the confidence knowing I provided the eco-friendly, natural toys for my kids that makes me satisfied that I am doing something right in this motherhood journey. They just feel so REAL. I’m not the only one, right? Kangovous, as seen on Good Morning America, talks about the importance of eco-friendly products which is another awesome benefit to these eco toys!

Some of these eco baby toys have been my kids’ favorites for years. What’s great, is that they are great for homeschool or just to have in the kids’ playroom. They work great as gift ideas for that upcoming birthday party or baby sprinkle you’ll be attending.

You’ll find eco-friendly toys for travel, music, pretend play, fine motor skills, and more. I also found some great kid-friendly finger paint that I’m going to have to buy on our next restock! Many of these toys are Montessori or Waldorf approved. Bonus! Woohoo!

I used the information provided by the company to carefully choose this list of toys for you all.

Have you checked out 5 Days of Preschool Prep?

I am a proud Amazon affiliate and Prime supporter because, a) I don’t have time to go to the store to go shopping all the time, and b) can you say free 2-day shipping with Prime? But you already knew that. (If you haven’t jumped on the bus yet, try it for free for 30 days here*).

I’m happy to say this is the last installment of my back-to-school series for fall. I’m posting 5 Days of Preschool Prep ideas just for you!

There are homeschool preschool printables, a preschool schedule sample, and preschool educational toy ideas for parents.

These could work for the stay at home mom doing preschool at home during the day or any working mom wanting to augment on the weekends. Here we go!

What are the best eco-friendly toy brands?

Our favorite eco-friendly toy brands are Grimm’s, Plan, and Green Toys. Each brand provides earth-friendly and educational toys for kids that you can mix and match. Check out the company’s websites for detailed information on how the toys are made.

What are the best educational toys for toddlers and preschoolers?

A toy is educational if it:

  • Mimics real life in some way
  • Allows for endless creative play
  • Develops fine motor skills and manipulation
  • Develops large motor skills
  • Promotes pattern recognition
  • Inspires music appreciation
  • Supports counting and sorting
  • Promotes engagement with others

If you can find a toy in the above list, it will inspire cognitive development through play.

Eco-Friendly Travel Toys

I love that these magnetic toys for travel would stay in the box instead of spilling all over the car!

Wooden stacking Toys and Shape Sorter

I don’t know about your kids, but mine love stacking. They could literally do it for hours. Which makes it perfect for driving in the car.

Grimm’s Triangles – Wooden Mini Magnetic Creative Play Design Puzzle in Travel Box

The triangles in this puzzle would be fun to make cute designs. I can see a lot of creative fun with this one.

Eco-Friendly Music Toys

Yes, music toys can be “annoying” sometimes. And we personally have to keep them away from the dog because she loves to chew them. haha.

But I like having music toys around to start up our own family band or drum up a rhythm while playing songs.

Eco-Friendly Toys for Pretend Play

Plan Toys My First Camera

My son sees me taking pictures all the time. And he always wants to take photos with my camera. Pretty sure he’s going to be a photojournalist when he grows up!

Plan Toy Tea Set (Solid Wood Version)

My daughter loves to pretend house. I thought this tea set looked perfect for pretend play. Bonus is that it looks pretty durable and you won’t have a bunch of cheap paint chipping off of plastic. Here’s another tea set version that is also super cute. I love the minimalist design that would be perfect for a Montessori kids’ activity center.

PlanToys 3451 Doctor Set Role Playing

My daughter also loves playing doctor! Because we recently had a baby, we were visiting the doctor often for both mommy and baby checkups. I love that this doctor set includes a stethoscope, bag, blood pressure, and a thing for checking your reflex (what’s that called? haha). Maybe I need to check-up on my doctor terminology before getting it for my daughter.

Green Toys Fire Truck – BPA Free, Phthalates Free

Fire trucks are pretty much a must have.

Green Toys Rocket with 2 Astronauts Toy Vehicle Playset, Blue/Red

Astronauts are perfect for those interested in space and the starts.

Green Toys Race Car, Pink

Cars aren’t only for boys. Just saying.

Soopsori Fishing Play Set

Eco-Friendly Toys for Fine Motor Skills

These fine motor toys will entertain for HOURS. Kids love to manipulate small parts. These toys are also great preschool educational toys to prepare for Kindergarten. Just make sure your child is old enough that it doesn’t present a choking hazard.

Arteza Finger Paints for Toddlers (non-toxic)

Here are the non-toxic finger paints I was talking about! We are totally restocking on these soon! Paint is a great preschool educational toy even though it is an “expendable” item. I also love Arteza’s water color paint set and water-color paper for the kids!

Shumee Wooden Fraction Building & Stacking Blocks for Toddlers, Kids, Preschool Age Children | Educational, Constructive Toy | 100% Safe, Natural & Eco-friendly

I’m a sucker for building blocks. I just love the idea of creating new things with blocks. You can endlessly create, and it helps the kids’ imaginations develop. These blocks also have dots for counting, which I think is awesome. They are great for teaching fractions as well! Perfect preschool addition for math skills. It’s a great preschool development toy to add to your arsenal.
