I love using Trello for work and organizing my blog, but I also love to use Trello for home management. How do I get my husband to use Trello too? Well, I’m still working on that one!

I thought I would highlight my favorite inspirational board examples from the Trello inspiration boards. These will help you organize for the school year this fall, organize your family schedules, track to do lists, declutter, plan for summer memories, create effective to do-lists, and even organize kid artwork.

Without further ado, here is some Trello inspiration for organizing boards to inspire you to get organized in one place!

8 routines to start: before, during, and after your…

Yes, I know that coffee has a lot of health benefits. That coffee makes you more alert. That it wakes you up. All-in-all super helpful to get you on the right foot for a good morning routine.

But, I’ve discovered other morning routine ideas to associate with your coffee drinking habit that will improve your day. I would call this a tongue-and-cheek post with a pinch of truth that is surprisingly effective yet simple at starting new morning routines.

It’s all about routines to start before, during, or after your morning cup of joe (which you already have every day). There are ways to leverage your morning coffee to be more productive, live a healthier lifestyle, and stick to a more productive daily morning routine.

But first, if you’re struggling with finding the perfect morning routine — I just loved the chapter about it in Family Routines. Hillary talks about all the routines that have really worked for her — and more. I think you’ll love it — in fact, she guarantees it. Time management tips to be more present [step by…

  • by Jessica Whitney

I get it, time management just isn’t your thing. You’ve tried all the time management tips in the book, but you just can’t seem to keep it together. You’re always busy and you always feel overwhelmed. You’ve just accepted being late as part of your personality. In fact, it’s pretty much an inside joke between you and your friends.

You’re always the last one to the play date or to the church group or to brunch with your friends. The Kesha lyrics to “Tik Tok” are pretty much your theme song (or your excuse), “The party don’t start ’til I walk in.” Am I right? Now, what if you could change this?

The thing is, I already know you have great reasons to be late. How do I know? Because you’re like me. You’re a productive boss lady with lots of obligations, a family, a mom, and you’re an overall rockstar.

How to teach a kid to ride a bike…

We love to ride bikes together as a family. Every year my dad even rides the Registered Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. Because our kids see us riding all the time, they of course want to ride with us. Are you considering buying a bike for a toddler, but can’t decide the best one? Or do you want to teach your kid to ride a bike stress-free? I wanted to share how to teach your kid to ride a bike the least stressful way possible!

When my son turned 5, he received an electric blue pedal bike with training wheels for his birthday. At first we thought we would leave the training wheels on, but we immediately noticed they were getting in the way of him riding.  We took them off and within 10 minutes he was riding the bike by himself!

In this post, I’m going to dive into my favorite tips for how to save money for vacation on a tight budget.

When we had a newborn in the house, I often dreamed about hot sand, ocean waves, and salty air. Unfortunately, with four kids we don’t get to the beach nearly as much as I want even now.

I can’t wait for our kids to get older so we can start taking a beach vacation every year! Do me a favor, and take a vacation for me!

Here are tips on how to save money for vacation on a tight budget.

15 ways to declutter your finances Budgeting

15 Ways to Declutter Your Finances

  • June 7, 2018December 15, 2018
  • by Jessica Whitney

Are you ready to feel confident about your personal and family finances? Do budgeting and budget worksheets excite you or intimidate you? If the latter, it doesn’t have to! One of the first steps to make your money work for you [rather than working for you money] is to declutter.

To declutter is to clean out the unnecessary – the distractions. It is to simplify so you can only see the most important things.

How do you know you might need to declutter your finances?

  • Do you know how many credit card accounts you have open?
  • Do you know what your interest rates are for each account?
  • Do you know what your balance is on any checking or savings accounts?
  • Do you know how much you pay in utilities each month on average?

If you answer no to any of these questions, then keep on reading! This post is for you.

The Best Books for Moms to Read

  • May 26, 2018December 11, 2024
  • by Jessica Whitney

Summer means a different kind of busy for my family and I. We travel more. Spend more time outside and barbecue a lot with friends. But it’s also a time to sit by the pool with a book or read something new while the kids play in the late summer evenings.

The kids always get a summer reading list, so I thought I would get together some of my favorite mom books to put together your summer reading list!

As moms we are BUSY. And tired. But we should be investing in our parenting skills and knowledge anyway. To be honest, I normally only read 5 books a year if I’m lucky. You might be the same way.

So here’s a short list of books for moms that are tried, need inspiration, practical advice, or straight to the point books worth their time. And oh yes, these books are worth your time to read and invest in. I’ve read all of them except the last one!

  • by Jessica Whitney

What I love about the E.A.S.Y. newborn daytime schedule is the simplicity and flexibility. If you are a new mom or about to be a new mom, you are probably wondering what your new rhythm will be like during the day. The first few months of having a baby can be an adjustment.

What’s the best newborn schedule? Keep things simple during maternity leave and follow the E.A.S.Y. schedule. If you’re wondering what you will DO with your baby the first couple of months, then this is the schedule for you!

I’ve got you covered on tips for the first week. But, before your newborn can walk and crawl and actually play, following this schedule will give you something SOME WHAT predictable. I don’t promise it will help your newborn sleep. But it will give you something to focus on!
