A letter to my little ones on Mother’s Day

My dearest little ones,

Someone tried to tell me. They tried to tell me that after you have kids, things change.

That everything is different. That you see the world differently because of the love you feel for your kids. That the love I would feel when I held you in my arms would be nothing I had ever felt before.

But I didn’t believe quite them. The love was much, much more than I could have ever imagined!

They tried to convince me that I didn’t know. But how do you know what you don’t know?

You are blind until you experience it. Blind to the intense love and caring and deep heart burning that comes with becoming a mom.

I just didn’t believe them.

A love letter to my ‘soon-to-be’ middle child

Dearest Little Two, the words that come to mind as I start this letter are, “You are my sunshine…” You make us so happy and smile each and every day.

You are filled with joy for life and a beautiful humor that keeps us laughing. One of my favorite quotes from you is, “Mommy, you wanna hear a funny joke?”  And you proceed to tell us the three jokes you know. Are you sure you’re only two? More like two going on seven.

Oh, Little One. You are the one that made me a mommy. Before I had you, I didn’t know what love could really feel like. The deep, earnest everlasting love took me by surprise.

The moment I heard that first cry, a sob arose in my throat and I stared adoringly into your fresh new face. As the nurses went about their duties and the doctor pushed on my belly, I was oblivious and uncaring of the noises around me. I was caught up in your adorable smile, teeny nose, and fuzzy eyes trying to look at me.
